New: Siemens Acend notification appliances

Oh yeah: almost kinda like a cross between the Genesis-series & the MT-series in that regard.

Yeah: I noticed that odd inconsistency myself.

i were to lower the sound, it would be a genesis

Based on this UL listing, it appears that Siemens will be rebranding the outdoor Eluxa devices in the near future instead of releasing outdoor ACEND devices.

Sorry to Bump, but someone in that video that they believe they are in a way Manufactured by Eaton/Wheelock exclusively for Siemens. Do you believe this has any validity based on the tones’ similarity?

I think this could be possible. It’s also possible that Wheelock/Eaton just gave the tone files to Siemens to use. I know at least for a while the MT tones were available for download online. I actually have an SD card laying around somewhere with the Hi-Lo mp3 on it.

I believe that the older simplex true alert multi tones used very similar tones towards the Wheelock MT. I find it odd that there are at least 2 companies using tones that they could probably easily make.

I don’t think the tones were directly copied, since the horn tone sounds like a single tone TrueAlert, not an MT. The slow whoops on the TrueAlert and ACEND also cover a wider frequency range.

I doubt that eaton has manufactured the device. Based on a previous post I sent they look very similar to a device siemens manufactures in house for the european market

I hope another lawsuit doesn’t come in. Some of the tones are still similar to the Mt. Wanna know why I’m saying this? The Eluxa MTs.

The multitone TrueAlert was also similar to the MT, but Simplex has not been sued to my knowledge. The Siemens lawsuit was because of the sync protocol, not the U-MMT tones. In fact, the only MT tone that was actually patented was the bell tone, but this patent expired in 2015.

It was also because of the remote strobes and speaker strobes (Some of the older ones).

Where did you see this? The complaint only lists 3 patents, all of which are about the sync protocol.

That’s weird. I thought it was design issues.

There has been a lot of speculation online around the cause of this lawsuit, but I haven’t seen any hard evidence of any other cause of the lawsuit. If someone downloads the other documents from PACER and saves them to CourtListener then it could be possible to get more information.

was told it was both the sync protocol and ummt/mtl tones

Wow…I never knew there was such a thing and I searched it up. Kinda looks a bit bootleg but I still want to chase these when they come out.

They came out already for several months. Not easy to get as you have to be a siemens dealer

Well then perhaps simply wait some years & maybe they’ll start popping up on Ebay & other sites like other once-brand-new devices have in the past.

I saw my first Acend/SC series devices today!
I was in my school’s new auditorium practicing for an upcoming performance, and I saw two Siemens SC-SS-WW-F speaker/strobes. A few days ago, I posted about the fire alarm devices in the auditorium, and I said they had Siemens SL series devices. That’s still true for most of the auditorium, but they used a few SC series devices backstage. Interestingly, they almost completely skipped the SL2 series devices in my school, only installing a few SL2SWW-F strobes in the newest band area. The mostly just went right from SL to SC series devices.
