I have a video about it, just showing it off.
That looks really nice and very vintage! I also thought that your icon for a minute was a rounded RSS.
Nice!!! That is from the 1970’s. Hope you can get it powered up. I can’t wait to get my Sears Early One very soon. It has been shipped out now just waiting. Hopefully within a week or two I will have it!!
Hope that when you get it you can make a video about it.
Thanks I definitely will be making a video. It took a bit to make a video when I first got my SA76RS two years ago which I got via this forum. The sound used to creep me out but now I love it so with the Sears that shouldn’t be a problem. The Sears is also the one my parents had in their old house (both houses). It will be the first time having the original box and instructions though. I will also post pics too.

Hi guys sorry its been a while that I added attachments but it looks like it is closer to home than I thought. Im hoping I get it Monday but if it arrives tomorrow I will really be shocked!
That is a good thing then. You will get it much sooner than you thought you were.
Thanks I tried several time posting an attachment of the tracking order but won’t work. Im hoping a video when I get the detector will post. I will keep trying. Im getting excited. Fifth alarm in my collection and this is the first ebay purchase. Im hoping again to eventually get the 1978 Honeywell (the one I was after originally).
The Sears Early One arrived today!!! Im very happy. Only a week I had to wait for it so Im really shocked I got it today. 8:20 this morning to be exact but I just got it from my front door 10 mins ago. Pics will be posted (hopefully shortly) and a video this weekend sometime (not exactly awake for that yet! LOL) Happy Friday everyone! 8) 8)
Hi Guys I am having a very hard time getting pics of my Sears Early one posted on here. I used to be able to post pics by adding attachments or even dropping and dragging the image and now I can’t. Can someone help me here? Thanks I would really like to show you all the pics. By the way the date code of the detector is 1277 so December 1977 it was made if I am right!

I had that with my childhood TC49A. Used to be absolutely horrified by it especially when it would chirp whenever the power went out. Now I love it. However I don’t love it when it goes off in the middle of the night (true story-a few years ago I had it plugged in and hanging on my wall and at around 2am it sounded a ~10 second blast for no reason, waking everyone in the house. We still think there was some kind of power surge or a draft of wind blew into the sensor)
I’m sure that your family must have loved you and not wished death on the detector when that happened that night. LOL
That would have had me up and out of bed awful quickly. The one in the upstairs hallway of my parents old house (second house I lived in from 1981 to 2003) was the Sears Early One (the very same identical unit I just got today) went off in the middle of the night. This was around 1985, I was 12 at the time, actually had a friend staying over but neither of us heard it. It woke my parents up. Thank goodness it was only a battery going low but it scared the you know what out of them. Still to this day I never figured out why it never woke me or my friend up. Thanks for showing me how to post pics on here. Hoping it works. Might be tomorrow as I just got in from a family dinner at my parents place. I also compared it to the size of my SA76RS and the Sears is very big compared to it and the RS is a bit older I do believe. (both were made in 1977). Still can’t believe after all these years I have an Early one and with a box and instructions. Very cool indeed!
Finally, I am going to my new house tonight (!!!) so I will photograph the 1979 detectors when I get there. (The BRK 769AC-i’s and First Alert SA76RC.) There is also a fire extinguisher at the house thats been in the kitchen longer than Sammy Hagar has been in Van Halen. lol
Also, I had false memory. The alarms at the house are AC-i’s not AC-ii’s.
Congrats on your Sears Early One! If you are going to a family gathering, you should take it-bring back some old memories.
Oh wow can’t wait to see that pics. That fire extinguisher would be before 1985 (that is when Sammy Hagar joined Van Halen). I was and still am a fan and I can say David Lee Roth was the ONE and ONLY lead singer of that group. That’s showing my age eh, LOL! Anyways as you have probably already seen my Sears Early One arrived today!!! Yippeee!!! Pics will likely be going up tomorrow and hoping a video to follow. The date code on it is 1277 (December 1977) out of curiousity what year is the SA76RC from?
Oh. That extinguisher was made in 1986. Close but no cigar! Also, your sa76rs was made between 1976 and 1978. 1979 was when the sa76rc was introduced. It was discontinued in late 1983.
I can say David Lee Roth was the ONE and ONLY lead singer of that group.

Agreed. I wasnt around when he was, but he did much better.
Ahh okay. Im still thinking my RS is 1977. Like you said it can’t be any later than 1978. But I think it was made before December 1977. The serial number on the back is 415115 but no date code I can find. By the way I had a scare tonight the cover of the Early One slid off the hinges. It’s actually supposed to do that as it is removable one way. I had a hard time getting it back on but it worked. Got worried it broke only having it a day. I can relax its okay but I can’t wall mount in on the pillar like the RS. The base will stay but once the cover is put in place it won’t stay up. (The Early One). Its very heavy and big compared to that of the RS. So lucky me I found a picture to put in its place. I have everything in my apartment hung via command hooks. By the way what is the best hosting site for posting pics? I tried Wix and I am having a heck of a time getting them posted. I agree David Lee Roth was the lead singer of Van Halen. By the way I was born in 1973 not 1975. Close but no cigar. LOL!!!
