If i had to guess you program it at the panel, these bases are really rare so there’s limited literature on them
I had no idea Black&Decker made smoke alarms. Interesting.
They did, though they were technically rebranded General Electric detectors, which in turn were made for GE by a company in Ireland called “EI Electronics”.
On the contrary not sure I ever knew the obscure company “DeTech” made smoke detectors: from what I’ve seen they only made heat detectors.
Can that be connected to others with or without wires? Does it have a relay?
It usually connects to a security system. I also got a heat detector bell made by Detech which is kinda surprising considering there was a video posted 10 years ago demonstrating it. Which means they made something outdated. The house these were installed in didn’t have a security system
Does it connect wirelessly or with wires?
Mhm.
Just because that video was posted 10 years ago doesn’t mean that’s when the detector was released: heck the only 21st century manufacturer of mechanical wind-up heat detectors that I know of is Masterguard (which is supposedly a division of Gentex. I’m not sure if they make said detectors anymore though).
Depends on the model: some are wired, some are wireless. Check the detector over including the label & search online for any documentation on it (good luck with an obscure brand like DeTech though).
I think I might have figured out the company. It has blue lettering with French on the back so it might be an S-Tech
Hello im knew and i just wanted to share some pictures of my vintage alarm collection.
This isnt all of my detectors as i have some installed and on display ,just wanted to share
I have got one of those genres home smoke detectors with the strobe for the hearing impaired
I wanted to buy some old smoke detectors again and happened to come across two brand new First Alert SA76RDCE’s.
I didn’t find anything about them on the internet other than the eBay Kleinanzeige listing.
Does anyone know more about them?
The seller wants about 16$ for both of them.
Going by the labels those might be European-market First Alert detectors.
Those look like Sears-rebranded Probe-series detectors made by Southwest Laboratories, Inc. of Costa Mesa, California.
My cousins uncle has one of those old probe rebranded sears installed i asked him about it and said he was still using them so dont ask about me replacing them.
It’s likely heavily outdated/non-sensitive though so I’d advise getting it replaced as soon as possible: if you don’t it may not work when it’s needed most (which is why smoke detectors have to be replaced every 10 years).
I want it soooooooo bad bud hes the tipe of guy that wont let go easy i do have the probe counter part tho
