Some Fire Alarm Pics (56k warning)

my guess with the "
This is some Mircom Device. It actually says “MIRTONE END-OF-LINE-DEVICE.” I have absolutly no idea of what this does. "

It has probably got a EOL in it, since they could not fit one in the pull.

Mirtone is actually an Edwards name.

We had those at my junior high school as well. The labels looked a little older though. We also had two of them in the gym, but one of them was disconnected. There were also some single-stroke chimes as well. Outside was a 4-inch Adapt-a-bel (this was the only one that rang correctly), and some ten-inch bells outside as well, that didn’t work properly (one only rang on the first day of school, and one behaved like a single-stroke bell).

For those wondering, my junior high school had an ancient Gamewell fire alarm system with flush-mount Federal Signal horns (with the explosion-proof grilles) and dual-action Gamewell pulls (they have a door on the front that reads “PULL HANDLE THEN PULL DOWN LEVER”). It’s still up there, I believe.

The South Junior High School near my house had what appeared to be brown IBM bells, with an old Edwards fire alarm system using 360-L flush-mount horns. But they were all taken down and plated up in favor of a new time tone system and a Simplex 4100U fire alarm system.

I got More Pics!

A Wheelock MT horn.

Wheelock LSM strobe.

A notifier Pull station.

Some smoke.

Sprinkler.

This is the panel. I’m not sure what company made this.

As you can see, It’s a key operated panel.

A closup of one of the maps on the panel.

Some smoke.

A Mircom pull station.

I’m not sure if you could see the sticker, But it says the strobe is 15
Candelas.

That’s all!

That looks like a System Sensor smoke detector. My college has some of those in the Fine Arts and Administration buildings, as well as in the Conference Center. They have photoelectric versions that also detect heat.

That one looks like it was mounted to the base of an older smoke, because the base that comes with the unit doesn’t look like that. It could be an older System Sensor base.

And this one is photoelectric, probably a 2424.

Those are some very cool fire alarm pics you have got there. I would take pics of my school, but I don’t have a camera and they don’t allow electronic devices.

Here’s more from that school I was at.

A closeup of A wheelock MT.

Above the MT. As you can see, This MT is dirty at the top.

Here are some pics from the mall I went to after the b-ball game.

Sorry i couldn’t get more pics, But the mall was so crowded!

Now Here are the pics from the boston pizza restraunt I went to.

I don’t know what EST panel this is.

You don’t need an explanation of this.

As you see the panel is in normal.

Wow. There isn’t much of a difference… except for the Wheelock logo…

I didn’t think there was a difference except one is a bit taller and the Wheelock logo. They could be sisters, or whatever gender they are.

It’s Benn A while, But I have ALOT of photos!

A closeup of the Simplex 2901-9723.

Smoke.

This was taken at My elementary school. I think it’s a heat dectector.

That’s all for now!

That’s an ESL 700 series detector. It’s fairly new.

Wow! That’s one old and yellow smoke! It looks like an old First Alert with an escape light.
Kinda reminds me of the SA67D.

That is a Wheelock ET speaker.

That is an old System Sensor ionization detector. A “doorknob” smoke detector.

That is a newer System Sensor smoke detector. It could also be a newer Edwards detector too.

Looks like a Simplex heat detector that got   PAINTED!

The Wheelock speaker is one of those vandal resistant ones.

The “doorknob” System Sensor is a 2451. It’s a plug-in ionization.

The bottom smoke is an addressable SIGA (EST) smoke.

I believe that horn is either a Simplex 4040, 4050 or 4051.

Wow. I like that one! Ask them what they’re going to do with it if/when they replace it, and tell them that they should. I’d definitely like to have it!
Anyhow, It’s a BRK, rebranded for Montgomery Wards.

Judging that it’s in the gym, I’m going to probably say those are foul shot buzzer, and probably the same buzzer for the end of periods and timeouts. Usually they’re located on the shot clock, but I guess there’s an external controller for it.

We have those on our shot clocks and they’re painted black. Once someone forgot to shut it off and someone made a basket while I was running and I thought I was going to have a heart attack!

I wonder why they have a horn in the hallway.

When I was there, Those horns didn’t sound for the buzzer for my sister’s games.
