Weather Woes Vol. 3

The snow system from my last post wasn’t as bad as I thought. But now my area has mostly rain and snow throughout this week. Temperature readings could go as low as the teens tomorrow night…but a warm-up is the way for Sunday, when it could get as high as 45 degrees!

We got about 3 inches of that white stuff last night. Our school’s got a two-hour delay!

Got maybe 2 or 3 inches last night. No big deal. Most of it melted today, but there’s supposed to be another 3 inches tonight into tomorrow.

Major snow system moving through right now…2-4" predicted to fall in my area.

“Major”? This isn’t exactly a major storm. My area is supposed to get 2"-4" as well, although it’s been said it’ll probably be closer to the 2" than the 4".

As for last night, we got some snow to. Apparently people forgot how to drive in snow as on my way home from bowling, I found 8 accidents, two or three of which looked serious. I was expecting the same this morning, but the roads looked remarkably in better shape. I got up 45 min early for nothing… :?

I think the nice wetaher this winter has spoiled some people…

“Major”? Ha! 2-4" inches is NOT a big deal. I don’t understand why people are making such a big deal about all this.

We’ve had some strong wind over the past couple of days. It was so strong that it blew a couple sections of our fence down. :frowning:

Well, as with the past several “snow storms”, we only ended up getting about an inch. Will we ever get hit by a big one?

Only had about 2" of snow in my area, but it was enough to leave a blanket of snow to clean off some spots and also gave me and my father some trouble on the roads while he was driving. The good news, however, is that the sun is out, the snow is melting, the next round of snow is not predicted until late next week, and temperatures are warming up! 8)

We got about 4" out of today’s storm. I’m hoping a big one doesn’t come. We’ve been lucky so far.

We had a pretty nasty week here in Ottawa; not much snow but really cold and dry temperatures (hovering between -15 Celsius and -40 with the wind chill). The roads were icy and salt isn’t effective at those temperatures. I can’t wait for tomorrow since we’re supposed to be getting +7 Celsius! Such a big change, it’ll almost feel tropical.

Thursday was warm and sunny. Yesterday it snowed, then it rained. Today it’s warm and sunny again. What the heck…

Same thing here - Thursday, it was nice, Friday, it snowed, and today, it’s nice again.

We could have some “thunder snow” here in a few hours. The good news is that not much snow is expected with it, so at least it won’t make a mess of things.

We have a blizzard moving in right now!

My house is in the “Heavy” part of the map above. Here is the forecast from where my school is located (it’s outside of the city), since I probably can receive more accurate information from that forecast. There’s not that much going on right now, but it’s supposed speed up quickly.

If this goes like it’s supposed to it will be the biggest snow storm that we will of had all season.

Well, we didn’t get anywhere near the accumulation that was foretasted. :? It was enough to close all of the schools though. It’s still snowing, and an additional couple of inches are supposed to come today.

Everything’s pretty much clearing up right now. We only got around 3-4 inches, and since it’s in the mid to upper 30’s, there is no snow on the streets, and everything’s already starting to melt.

Right during the time in my last post, the snow melted about an inch, but, it soon became cold, cloudy, and snowy again. We another inch last night, making the snow accumulation the same as when it was melting yesterday. But now, the sun is out melting everything again.

Today we were in for a surprise: We got around 5-6 inches of snow overnight! They were predicting snow, but to a much smaller extent. However, it could be clearing up soon.

We’re in for some wintry mix today.
