What is your favorite school bus?

Dude! What a coincidence! So do I! The EFX I find to be a VERY rare bus! Because you don’t see them anywhere NEAR commonly, as far as I know, that is.

lol, my school district has probably close to 200 of them.

They must REALLY like HDX’s, we only have like, what, 10 regular ones, and two with the chrome yellow paint with custom signs and tour-style windows. We use those two as charter buses, here in Arizona…

I wouldn’t say they “love” HDX’s, but who knows. We have several hundred BlueBird buses as well. Its a kinda a mix and match.

I think that would make it more dangerous; what if a kid gets caught in it? Plus, aren’t the door controls on the steering wheel?

Yeah that would be a Liability. I would think that a bus driver would know that the door is open.

Yes, just thought the feature would… nevermind.

We used to have a mix of 1 Thomas, 2 BlueBirds, and 25 ICs, but now it’s 28 ICs. My favorite is bus 21, one of the 6 spares, a 2005 IC RE 300, the oldest of all of our buses. But one problem is if the rear ventilator is open, the rattling causes the handle to move just enough to trigger the alarm, so it can’t be open. My bus, Bus 14 is a 2019 IC RE and has one thing that doesn’t work. The Child-Checkmate system. That is on purpose, because we don’t use the child safety alarms.

My school district uses First Student as their bus vendor and their bus fleet consists of the following:

  • A lot of Thomas EFX 76/72 passenger buses from years 2012-2023
  • Some Thomas EFX 48 passenger buses from years 2014-2017
  • Some newer Thomas Minotour buses
  • Some older (2011-2015) Chevy Collins buses

All of the buses have a Child Checkmate system with the motion detector and red button

Thomas Sa-Ft liner has got to be my favorite
I only don’t like the bar in the front
Blind spot bar thingy

@FirealarmsNsirens

SAF-T-LINER is the proper spelling

i would have to say the BlueBird T3FE and the old A3FE’s. i also really like the thomas C2’s and the HDX’s but iv’e never rode on one (we don’t have any in my district which is sad). IC Is a Meh from me but i haven’t ever rode on an IC because we only have 1 and it’s used as the driver training bus and sometimes a spare bus.
