On ‘house’ Ep. 78 “You Don’t Want To Know”
One of the doctors sets off a sprinkler with a lighter, a bell can be heard. All other sprinklers go off.
I saw that last night!
The Alarmist (movie)
Security system control keypad that looks like an Ademco but I’m not sure.
Alarm activated in another scene- siren, horn, bell and voice (wacky!)
She tries to activate it with smoke before using the lighter.
I just recently caught up on my taped episodes of Chuck, and in one of the episodes–pretty sure it was the Monday before Thanksgiving, based on the scenes in the show-- they pull the alarm.
The Buy More (the store Chuck works at) gets ready for Black Friday. they discuss how it gets absolutely insane and that if someone says the code word “pineapple”, they’ll evacuate the store.
Someone says pineapple, of course (but it was becuause there were bad guys in the store) Anyway, they pull a non-simples t-bar (it has the little hole for the lock… Radionics?) and the alarm instanly goes off. It was some computer generated alarm, a classic “code red” pulsed horn. (Hard to describe) However, I find it ironic that they use a fake alarm, because I can see red boxes high on the walls that appear to be fire alarms. instead of just using them for set decorations, they should’ve used them for this scene.
People ALWAYS assume that once one sprinkler is set off all of them go off. It really bugs me.
Yeah, I just did a persuasive speech today about residential fire sprinklers, and one of my “selling points” was busting the myth about the sprinklers all going off at once. When they were asking questions at the end, I did end up explaining a deluge system, but said that those are only for special locations where there’s a huge risk of fire.
On “Full House” episode “All Stood Up”, Stephanie’s junior high school has Fire-Lite BG-6 pulls in the background.
And on the episode “Nice Guys Finish First,” at a hockey game Joey is playing, the scoreboard buzzer sounds (and it sounds like a Vibratone 350) and Jesse asks, “Did someone pull the fire alarm again?” LOL!
Yeah that’s my favorite espisode of “Full House” I used to think Full House was alright… but now I don’t watch it as much anymore.
On last night’s NCIS firefighters went into a house with a 4/6 smoke going off. It was something burning in the oven. One FF deactivates the alarm (KidSmart/SignalONE 20012VSD) by simply tuning it on its bracket.
I’ve been watching Inside American Jail and there have been FAs in several of the facilities:
Austin, TX: Wheelock ET-70s and RSSs, NBG-10 behind a box
Las Vegas: Ceiling-mount vandal-resistant ETs, low-profile smokes
In “National Treasure, book of Secrets” The fire alarm is set off by riley at Buckingham Palace. You hear a slow whoop and an alarm (NS or AS?) in some sort of march time. It seemed slower than 120bpm, but faster than 60bpm/pulse. (possibly 90bpm?)
On Scrubs, I saw this small door on the wall and on the bottom in black font, it was labeled FIRE ALARM CONTROL. When they zoomed away from JD (one of the characters, who was sitting by the panel) you could see what looked like a red light and green light on the door. Neither was on though.
On New Years Eve, I saw a phone commercial, at the end (I think), I think I saw an Edwards Integrity.
In one of my favorite Still Standing episodes, Bill and Judy manage to set off their kids’ school’s fire alarm. They were trying to get into this room where their kids were attending an awards ceremony (they thought the kids were doing something much more negative). Well, they bust through what apparently is a set of emergency exit doors (which oddly enough open INTO the school from the outside), and as soon as they do a 10" bell starts ringing continuously. After a quick punchline, a red becon starts flashing and a voice message starts playing. The ep was on last night, and I recorded the audio of the scene:

BTW, for future reference, the name of the ep is “Still in Cahoots”.
In High School Musical, During “Stick to the Status Quo”, you can easily see the fire alarms. They look just like the “Loudspeaker” alarms at my school. They may be made by FedSig but I don’t know exactly who makes them.
A joke on Letterman: they were doing Friday Night Fun Facts, and this was one of them:
“In the event of a fire at Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, factory employees must evacuate via the stairs, and not the Wonkavator.”
Also, I finally figured out the voice evac message from Still Standing:
“Please make your way to the nearest exit. Please make your way to the nearest exit. The fire alarm has been activated. Avance a la más cercana salida por favor. Please make your way to the nearest exit.”
And FYI, that foreign language sentence is that of spanish. Their might be something in before the translation, but I’m not sure…
LOL!
Here’s some possible voice evacs from different companies:
Simplex:
Attention, Attention, Attention. An emergency has been reported. All occupants walk to the nearest stairway exit and walk down to your assigned reentry floor, or main lobby. Do not use the wonkavators. Walk to the nearest stairway. Do not use the wonkavators. Walk to the nearest stairway.
Wheelock:
May I have your attention please… a fire emergency has been reported in the building. While this is being verified, please leave the building by the nearest exit. Do not use wonkavators.
Silent Knight:
Attention please! There has been a report of an emergnecy! Proceed calmly to the nearest exit and leave the building immediately. Do not use wonkavators. Use stairwells where necessary. All handicapped occupants shall use the building evacuaton plan.
EST3:
Attention, Attention! An emergency has been reported in this building. Please cease operations and leave the building, utilizing the nearest emergency exit or emergency exit stairway. Do not use wonkavators.
Siemens:
May I have your attention please A Fire Emergency Has been reported in the building please leave the building by the-- nearest exit, in-- an-- orderly-- manner. do not use wonkavators.
In Kindergarden Cop they have a fire drill. It is a bell in Code 3 for a change Here is a youtube video of it
There’s another possible EST3 message.
There has been an emergency reported in the building. Leave the building immediately using marked stairways and exits. Do not use wonkavators.
The first of this year’s Bud Lite Super Bowl commercials showed what might happen if Bud Lite could give you the ability to breathe fire. So this guy is having dinner at his girlfriend’s house, he uses his fire breath to light the candles on the table, and then he starts sneezing and setting everything in the dining room on fire. At the end, a 4/6 smoke is going off and he says “I’m really sorry.”
