Discourse has been updated to v2026.4

We have switched to Discourse’s monthly release track. Along with this release, the default theme has been switched to ‘Horizon’ so things may look a little different. Users who wish to use the older theme, it’s available under your user settings. More context on that transition can be seen here: Feedback Request: Updated Default Theme

For a full list of features from our last version, to this version, see Discourse release notes here: v2026-.1.2 → v2026.4.0

I really appreciate that you can switch back. While it’s important to keep things up to date, options to not change things are always good.

I tried switching back to the classic theme and uh…

Is it supposed to have those weird outlines all over the place?

Classic is different. The theme you’re looking for is called ‘Default’ (Ironically as it’s not the default)

@Alexis_T I renamed it to simply ‘Discourse’ to try to prevent confusion in the future.

Discourse Classic is the Original Discourse theme before we even switched to it for our forum software. So ‘Discourse’ is the theme you want to select now

Although I did eventually figure it out, I had that same issue. Thanks for fixing it.

Oh alright :joy: thanks for clearing that up.

Though it still shows up as “Discourse classic” for me  unless I need to clear my browsers’ cache.

I’m currently away from my PC, so I cannot test there.

Edit: I’ve set it to default now, and it’s back to what it was before Horizon… I’m not very familiar with Discourse.
