Fire Alarm Fails

It’s not necessarily the installer’s fault. Given that there is paint on the device (another fail), it might be a result of someone who painted or modified the wall.

As I said. It’s really not a fail, unless like here, the strobe is not visible in a 360 degree direction.

That gentex reminds me of a videogame. But I can’t seem to remember what.

It’s debatable, it’s intended for wall mounting. The strobe is probably fine, but the fire lettering is not very legible, that adds to the fail.

Here’s an Edward’s detector hanging from the ceiling by its wires.

Now thats a fail. Better than ever!

This looks like a Kidde smoke alarm with the guts ripped out of it. If it’s not, it’s a missing system detector.

The strobe is not fine because it is not listed for ceiling mounting. The light distribution requirements are different for wall and ceiling devices.

It is probably a smoke alarm because I don’t see anywhere for wires to be run. Of course, it could also be a wireless security camera.

Welp. Don’t come crying to me when your building burns down.

Wah Wah Wah WAHHH!!!

Sideways 4903 and a TrueAlarm missing the chamber cover (idk if you’d count that, but I did.

The 4903 is not a fail. These are already made by simplex. The strobe and fire lettering is clear for those.

I assumed the strobe wouldn’t be rated for mounting like that (considering there are vertical units for retrofitting situations like this).
