ITS SO EASY TO PUT A RSS UPRIGHT
HOW DO YOU SCREW IT UP >:(
Heck if I know: some people have no understanding of logic I guess. They probably belong to the same group of people who somehow manage to mount devices upside-down.
they did this at my school ADFGJKFDVJGCFFVGHBJVCFGHJKHGFGHYUJUHGFGHJKpain
you do know that they are rated for use like that, right?
I actually don’t think they are due to the design of the reflector; on all SR, RS, & RSS models, the reflector is designed to deflect the light from the strobe tube downwards for adequate coverage: a horizontal RSS mounted with the strobe oriented vertically though is now casting that light sideways instead of down & thus it’s no longer providing enough coverage.
i know some are, i saw it in real life. it was also covered in one of wheelove fire alarm’s videos.
Ceiling-mount models maybe but not wall-mount models.
no, wall mount models too/
Like I said, with the alarm & reflector facing sideways the light from the strobe tube will be deflected in that direction, making the strobe not cover the spots in an area it would if it was mounted correctly.
Oh yeah: some devices (including that one) I’ll never understand the asymmetricalness of.
also notice how the strobe and horn are closer to the top of the device.
Like I said: asymmetricalness, in both directions.
yeah. also, the screw.
Is it bad that I don’t hate this
only sort of. technically, it does meet al requirements, but in one of the worst ways possible. very few alarms can parallel this in terms of ugliness.
Thanks @electromaniac_guy for letting us know these weird devices exist.
no problem, man. although, they don’t hurt to look at.
ok there is a logical reason we see wall mounts on the celling ( I will creat a topic talkng about that) but devices upsidown and sideways is just dumb.
Most of the time wall mount notification appliances have the strobe facing in a single direction where if mounted on a ceiling wouldn’t face all directions.
