Make Up a System (2.0)

Fire Alarms at the Candyman Mall (Mixed Edwards and Simplex Fire Alarms):

Edwards 757-8A-T Non Enhanced/Enhanced Integrity Horn Strobes 110CD.

There’s also some Non-Enhanced 757-3A-T Horn Strobes.

There’s white versions in Macy’s! All of them are 110CD, except for one that is 15/75CD.

Simplex 4903-9238 Horn Strobes (Later Models from 1999-2000) 110CD

Simplex 4904-9136 Strobes 110CD from 1999-2000. These are the single gang installs mounted on poles. There’s 1 per pole.

Simplex 4904-9175 Strobes 110CD set on Free Run

Simplex QuickAlert 4904-9169 Free Run 75CD Strobes.

Simplex QuickAlert/TrueAlert 4904-9170 Free Run 110CD Strobes. Most are QuickAlerts.

Edwards Integrity 757-1A-T remote horns

Simplex 4903-9427 Free Run TrueAlert Horn Strobes

EST Genesis G1RF-HDVM Horn Strobes

EST Genesis G1RF-VM Strobes

EST LED Genesis Double Gang Horn and remote strobes

Most of the Integrity and a few Genesis Horn Strobes and are in the Food Court. Most of the mall has Simplex remote strobes and Integrity remote Horns. There’s also many Free Run TrueAlerts in stores as well as Fixed Candela EST Genesises/Integrities. One store has Gentex Commander 3s! Mixed EST and Simplex System; very odd, but cool! There’s a Starbucks separate from the food court.

Dillards has probably one of the most interesting Fire Alarms; Simplex 4903-9236/9237/9238 Horn Strobes from 1999! One of them got replaced with a Simplex 4903-9254 Horn Strobe from 2016. Some Simplex 4903-9237s/9238s are mounted on top of a glass mirror but most are mounted on wooden walls of the store, where they won’t collect paint or dust. Some have a darker red color though. Some are on walls with paint and/or dust, but some have neither.

JCPenney has Simplex 4903-9426/9427 4 Wire TrueAlerts and Simplex 4904-9169 and 9170 strobes. There’s also some stores that have 4903-9425s and 4904-9168s. There’s one store that has Simplex 4903-9432s and 4904-9172s which are all White 75CD Free Run TrueAlerts.

This mall has a similar layout to Citrus Park Town Center; Except everything at this mall is Edwards, Simplex and Gentex.

If I really wanted to go all out and didn’t care, I’d want “extra-high output” versions of the Wheelock ASWP set to 185 candela and a sound output set to 116 dB at 10 feet (111.5 dB sensitivity compression driver through a 30 watt amplifier).

Fire Alarms at Klaxon Park Square Mall:

Most of the Mall has First Generation Simplex TrueAlert? QuickAlert? Speaker Strobes all from 2000 mounted on 4905-9946 skirts. Models are…

Simplex 4903-9356 (Fixed 15CD)
Simplex 4903-9357 (Fixed 75CD)
Simplex 4903-9358 (Fixed 110CD)
Simplex 4904-9331 (QuickAlert, family restrooms only)
Simplex 4904-9332 (QuickAlert, all men’s and women’s restrooms)
Simplex 4903-9333 (QuickAlert, strobes lurking alongside the mall)
Simplex 4903-9359 (Fixed 15CD)
Simplex 4903-9360 (Fixed 75CD)
Simplex 4903-9361 (Fixed 110CD)
Simplex 4903-9301 (Ceiling installs from 2000, 15CD)
Simplex 4903-9303 (Ceiling installs from 2000, 30CD)
Simplex 4903-9305 (Ceiling installs from 2000, 110CD)
Simplex 4906-9151 (In newer wing)
Simplex 4906-9153 (In newer wing)
Simplex 4906-9154 (In newer wing)

Alarms are not original to the mall. The 4903s are mounted on 4905-9923 back boxes on the ceiling as the strobes provide 360° coverage. Most of the 4903s are the 4903-9305 SmartSync Speaker Strobes from 2000. 4903-9149 Speaker Strobes are also installed with strobes set to SmartSync 110CD. Ceiling strobes are Simplex 4904-9327s from 2000. There’s also some Simplex 4904-9311+4902-9703 speaker/strobe combos on 4905-9925 adapter plates on 4905-9923 back boxes. Strobes mounted on the bottom. All alarms look huge lmao. Alarms play a Code 3 tone followed by a brief message after 3 rounds of the code 3 tone. It’s not that loud at all. Strobes are all set on SmartSync. These are retrofits as the mall building was built in 1970.

Also the reason why I say the speaker strobes are 1st generation is notice the Cover plate; The Simplex logo is raised all the way up to the top and the font of the ‘FIRE’ lettering is different. And there are QuickAlerts! Some are just fixed Candela TrueAlerts, like in Best Buy, built in 2003. The newer section has the 4906 TrueAlerts. There are 4906 TrueAlerts that are just replacements of older fixed candela SmartSync units. The 4903 SmartSync speaker strobes are the latest generation models, all from 2000 as they have a ‘15CD’, ‘30CD’ or ‘110CD’ sticker on the strobe reflector.

The voice message goes like this (Male voice): “May I have your attention please? There has been a Fire emergency reported in the building! Please proceed to the nearest exit or fire exit. Do not use the elevators!” Speaking of elevators; The elevators in this mall are Schindler 321As. I love their chime! Good ol’ Schindy!

There’s also a standby message option, when no strobes flash and all speakers just play a simplex chime tone. The speakers are just as quiet as the speakers in Natick Mall in Natick, MA. The strobes are as bright as the strobes in the Natick Mall in Natick, MA. The speakers even on 2 Watts aren’t loud. Most strobes are 110CD which is why it’s super bright, much like Natick Mall. The speaker strobes are really quiet. The QuickAlert Horn Strobes in Dillards and Macy’s are very loud!

Speaking of which, QuickAlerts:

Macy’s has Simplex QuickAlert 4903-9428, 4903-9429 and 4903-9430 Horn Strobes all from the 40th-43rd weeks of 2000. These horn strobes are very rare! The restrooms have Simplex QuickAlert 4904-9342 in family bathrooms and 4904-9343 Strobes in men’s and women’s, also from the 40th-43rd weeks of 2000. The elevator is a Dover Impulse! Macy’s has Kohler fixtures in the restrooms (Restrooms on all 3 floors, interestingly); Freshmen urinals and Kingston toilets from 2000. Another one has Bardon urinals and Kingston Waterguard toilets from the early 1990’s. The third is renovated with Bardon urinals and Kingston Ultra toilets, with the same original Simplex QuickAlert 4904-9343 Strobe from 2000. Single person restrooms on all 3 floors too.

Dillards (Dilly’s) has the red versions of the Fire Alarms in Macy’s; Simplex QuickAlert 4903-9417 15CD, 4903-9418 75CD and 4903-9419 110CD Horn Strobes all from the 34th-43rd weeks of 2000. Bathroom remote strobes include Simplex QuickAlert 4904-9331 15CD and 4904-9332 75CD strobes all from the 34th-43rd weeks of 2000. There’s a Simplex 4906-9127 replacement. The Elevator for Dillards is an Otis Series 7 which modded an Otis Series 1, the original elevator. Dillards has very nice restrooms with actual stall doors with walls and 2 QuickAlert strobes in each; one’s 15CD and the other is 75CD. You get all the privacy you need. Also, the restroom fixtures are Grey American Standard fixtures; Albrook urinals and Afwall toilets, similarly to all Dillards.

The rest of the main mall has mixed Kohler, Toto, Crane Plumbing and American Standard restroom fixtures of mixed kinds. Both vintage and modern as well as wall mount or floor mount.

Best Buy has Simplex 4903-9419 110CD SmartSync Horn Strobes like Dillards, but this time, they’re TrueAlerts instead of QuickAlerts and they are the originals to when the store was built in 2003. The restroom hallway has a Simplex 4903-9417 15CD SmartSync TrueAlert Horn Strobe and the restroom has a Simplex TrueAlert 4904-9331 15CD Synchronized Strobe.

Dick’s Sporting Goods has older Second Generation Fixed Candela Wheelock AS Horn Strobes from 2000, same year as the Simplexes. There’s AS-2415W, AS-241575W, AS-2430W, AS-2475W/4903-9247, AS 24110W, AS-2475C and AS-24100C. There’s also some Wheelock Exceeder Horn Strobes replacing the AS Horn Strobes. The Bathrooms have Wheelock RSS-241575W Remote Strobes, fixed 15/75CD. These are on a Simplex system. The elevator is an Otis Series 1. Those are good elevators! The restroom fixtures are American Standard and Gerber.

Neiman Marcus has Simplex Synchronous strobes; not SmartSync, just synchronous because it’s only syncing the Strobes as the Horn Strobes are 4 Wire TrueAlerts, models 4903-9425, 4903-9426, 4903-9427 and 4906-9101. Strobes are all synced in here. Store was built in 2008. The elevator is an Otis Series 5.

There’s one store that has no synced strobes and that is Kohl’s. It was built in 2000 and has Simplex 4903-9236, 4903-9237, 4903-9238, 4903-9254, 4903-9426 and 4903-9427 Horn Strobes with Simplex 4904-9137 and 4904-9135 strobes in bathrooms.

Marshall’s has System Sensor SpectrAlert Classic P24110, P241575, S24110 and S241575 Newer 1st Generation Horn Strobes from 2000, surprisingly on a Simplex system! No elevator in Marshall’s. The restroom has Kohler and American Standard fixtures.

TjMaxx has Simplex QuickAlerts though, from 2000. Simplex 4903-9419 and 9417 Horn Strobes from the 3rd-25th weeks of 2000. Remote strobes are Simplex 4904-9331 and 9333. The restroom has Kohler fixtures.

Primark has System Sensor L-Series Speaker Strobes. It used to be a Sears with Simplex QuickAlerts from 1999, though the store was built in 1970. The restroom used to have mixed vintage and modern Kohler fixtures, but now it’s just new American Standard fixtures. The elevator there is now a ThyssenKrupp (Thyssy) which is now called TK elevator with all blue buttons and indicator. I like the color of the buttons/display and look of the elevator. It used to be a vintage a Vintage 1970 Dover Elevator. I’m sad about what happened to sears. This one closed down for good in 2020.

The Voice Panel is a Simplex 4100. Macy’s has a Simplex 4020. Dillard’s has a Simplex 4006. Dick’s has a Simplex 4010, though there’s Wheelock devices on that System, though Wheelock Sync is enabled on that. Kohl’s has a Simplex 4004. Best Buy has a Simplex 4100+. Neiman Marcus has a Simplex 4008. Marshall’s has a Simplex 4005, even though it has 1st Generation System Sensor SpectrAlert Classics. TjMaxx has a Simplex 4010ES. Primark’s Fire Alarm system is actually connected to the main fire alarm control panel inside the mall.

There’s even stores that have Space Age Electronics Fire Alarm Devices!

Old Navy has Siemens U-MHU-MCSs and Siemens U-MCSs! Old Navy is the only store that has Siemens fire alarms. The ones around the store are set on 110CD! The ones in the bathrooms and bathroom hallway are set on 30CD.

Barnes & Noble has 1st Generation Simplex QuickAlerts! Aka the 1999 models. The model numbers are Simplex 4903-9419, 4903-9418 and 4904-9331.

There’s a brand new store that just opened up in the mall; with System Sensor LED L Series Horn Strobes and Strobes!

Fire Alarms at a Big History Museum in the City of Mansfield:

This museum is old; built in 1968, but the system has been added in 1999 as well as an Otis Series 1 Elevator and Dover Impulse Elevator installed the same year. One of the restrooms in the museum was renovated in 1999 also.

System is a Simplex 4100U Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel. Pulls are Simplex 4099-9003/4099-9006 Addressable Dual Action T-Bar Pull Stations.

Notification appliances are a mixture of Simplex QuickAlerts, Simplex TrueAlerts and Wheelock MTs.

Wheelock MTWP-2475W-FR (180CD)
Wheelock MTWP-24MCWH-FR
Wheelock ELMTSR (Brand New Wheelock ELUXA Multi Tone installed in May 2024!)

There’s even some outdoor MTs inside and QuickAlerts outside in the parking garage! Mostly the MTs are the outdoor alarms while the QuickAlerts are the indoor signals. All the 4906-9127s replaced nonfunctional 4903-9417/9418/9419 signals. The 4906-9101s replaced 4904-9331/9332/9333 signals with dead strobes. The newer horizontal strobed MTs replaced the older vertical strobed MTs. All the alarms are on Code 3. There is a lot of echoes from the loud alarms during activation. All of the alarms are incredibly loud. There’s even a Simplex QuickAlert with a rubber duck and rubber eyes on its cover plate; it may as well be called Simplex QuackAlert :joy:!

Capital Wharf Apartments, Fishkill, New York:
This is a 100-story apartment building with a communal basement and, you guessed it, 100 floors of apartments! Each floor has a large unit and smaller 1-bedroom and studio units. Some 2-bedroom lock-off units (a 1-bedroom and a studio) exist on these floors.

Panel:
The panel situation here is wild! There is one Notifier NFS2-3030 on every floor, and they are all linked together! Remote microphones are located in the hallways, and volume knobs for the voice speakers are located inside the IT and server closets on each floor. However, the pool, outdoor, and gym area is serviced by a Simplex 4006 connected to a Wheelock SAFEPATH SP40S. The 4006 is also linked to the NFS2-3030 panels.

Edwards 202-8A-T Strobes

Most Edwards Integrity Speaker Strobes are Newer Later Non-Enhanced 110CD models (you can tell because the ‘110CD’ font has an uppercase C and D and it’s the same font as the Enhanced Models that came a year after), some are Enhanced 110CD. All 15, 15/75 and 30CD models are Non-Enhanced. The Genesis Speaker Strobes were installed during several years, most of them are either set to 75CD or 110CD these are in one of the weight rooms and 1 of the gymnasiums. The older Generation Genesis Speaker Strobes are in the Weight room and the newer Generation Genesis Speaker Strobe is in the Gymnasium. The older Generation models are from 2007 and the Newer Generation model is from 2020 before discontinuation. There’s also some LED Genesis Speaker Strobes all set on 110CD. These ones are located in the gym and especially the pool area because all previous Integrities and Genesis Devices failed, causing them to all be replaced with EST LED Genesis Speaker Strobes in 2023. This YMCA was built in 2000. The Integrity Speaker Strobes have numerous generations, and the newest Generation installed is from 2022. All alarms in the Gymnasium are Enhanced but 1. 4 of them are Integrities, 1 of them is a late generation Xenon Genesis and the other is a Newer LED Genesis.

Chick-Fil-A, I-95 Area, Yonkers, NY:
This Chick-Fil-A was located in a very busy interchange area off the I-95 near a McDonald’s, a Burger King, and many other hotels, restaurants, and other shops. Sadly, this location was burnt down in 2021 after a vehicle exploded in the Drive-Through.

Panel:

  • The panel here was a Simplex 4010 that was installed in 2010, after the location opened.

  • Simplex 2099-9754 (replaced dead BG-12s in the kitchen)

  • System Sensor 5600T (located in kitchen)

Fire Alarms at the Cape Mod Mall:

Mod Stands for modified.

Unlike Cape ‘Cod’ Mall, which has Simplex 4903-9236 15CD Horn Strobes on Continuous Horn, this Mall uses Simplex 4903-9238 110CD Horn Strobes on Code 3 Horn. Some Simplex 4903-9254 110CD Selectable TrueAlert Sounding replacements take place. The remote strobes in bathrooms are Simplex 4904-9135 30CD strobes. There are Orange Triangles on the strobe reflectors. Like Cape Cod Mall, the strobes are still not synced and they are not coded. There’s still 4 Wire TrueAlerts on Free Run Strobe Operation 4 Wire Code 3 Horn. Unlike Cape Cod Mall, the Best Buy Still has its Simplex QuickAlerts and 4903s intact from 1999-2000, none are replaced luckily! The strobes in the Best Buy are a Whopping 110CD just like the rest of the mall! Some of the 4903s have a less bright 30CD strobe, but still pretty bright. The Barnes & Noble has 1st Generation SpectrAlert Classic 30CD, 75CD and 110CD Horn Strobes. 15/75CD strobes are in bathrooms. Also the overhead lights in the mall are brighter than Cape ‘Cod’ Mall and most of them are LED Lighting fixtures. This is the same size and layout as Cape Cod Mall, just with much better lighting and strobe coverage. Most of the System is Simplex, with the sole exception of Barnes & Noble, obviously. The movie theater section has Simplex 4903-9142/9144/9146 Speaker Strobes on a Code 3 Tone. The Sears is no longer open to the public and had Simplex 4903-9236/9237/9238 Horn Strobes and 4904-9137 Strobes. That System is likely to be removed soon. The Target has System Sensor L-Series of Course, all Targets have those things. CVS has EST Genesis Horn Strobes. The Dunkin Donuts has a Simplex 4903-9236 Horn Strobe! Newbury Comics has Simplex 4903-9426 75CD 4 Wire Horn Strobes. Men’s Wearhouse has Simplex 4903-9426 75CD 4 Wire Horn Strobes. Forever 21 has Simplex 4903-9426 75CD 4 Wire Horn Strobes. Macy’s has Simplex 4903-9238, 4903-9427 and 4903-9254 Horn Strobes, 4903-9236s in fitting rooms and bathroom hallway. Five Guys has Simplex 4906-9127 Horn Strobes and 4906-9101 Remote Strobes all SmartSync and Multi Candela. The Children’s place probably has the most interesting System; Simplex 4903-9239/9240 Vertical Horn Strobes and 4904-9139 strobes! There are some SmartSync TrueAlerts in stores, but Kay Jewelers on the other hand has a Simplex 4903-9417 QuickAlert Horn Strobe from 1999. Not Your Average Joes restaurant has Simplex 4903-9418 75CD QuickAlert Horn Strobes from 2000 (1st Half), not a very common find for a Not Your Average Joes. Simplex 4904-9331 strobes in bathrooms. Dick’s Sporting Goods has Simplex QuickAlert 4903-9419 110CD Horn Strobes from 2000 (2nd Half). Yes, quite a bit of those guys are mounted on skirts if you ask me. One of them has a cracked housing on the right side of the strobe and it looks exactly like one of the Simplex 4903-9417 QuickAlerts at my college, the only difference is that these have the much brighter 110CD strobe.

This is what I’m talking about (One of the Simplex 4903-9419s in the Dick’s sporting goods is like this, the device is still fully operational):

. But is
IMG_4506 instead of
IMG_4507. The hole of conduit is above in the store, not below. The pull station is right below the alarm, while at Dick’s though the pull stations are the exact same model number are not mounted below the fire alarm signals, the Simplex 4099-9003 Dual Action Addressable T-Bar and the Fire Alarm Panel is the exact same as the system in this building, a Simplex 4020 Fire Alarm Control panel. The -9419s are original to when the store was built, in 2001. Also this picture is the -9417. These -9417s are not original installs. Yes, Dick’s has some -9417s too, but most are -9419s. Same cover plate, same strobe reflector with no prongs. This is the 2000 model, the 2001 models have the prongs sticking out to direct the light, where these ones don’t.

This is what you’re actually seeing:

+

Credits to eBay seller prospector_harvey and RYBB Fire Alarm for the images.

Cursed date code, but this is when most of the alarms were made

Let’s do another one! This is most likely the date code to the -9417s

Snowflake Farm, Poughkeepsie, NY:
This farm was owned by a gentleman named Kristoff, who bought the farm off of a local family in 1970. The farm originally was used as a private farm by a family, but Kristoff turned it into a public attraction, with a central barn building as the main building. There is also an outdoor garden area and farm supply purchasing area. The farm closed in 2015 and became Kristoff’s own home. The farm was demolished in 2020 and later became a cluster neighborhood.

Panel:

  • Original: Simplex 2001 (until 2008)
  • Final: Simplex 4005 (until closure)

  • Simplex 2099-9754 (replaced some dead 4251-21s)

Unnamed Private High School, East Fishkill, NY:
This time, we have a high school with a pretty interesting history! This school was known to have an evil principal who monitored students every step of the way, even in the classrooms, with cameras inside. The fire alarm system is also quite interesting: a mainly Simplex system with some Wheelock, Fire-Lite, System Sensor, Edwards, and FCI devices!

Panel:

  • Simplex 4100- located in a storage closet in the massive atrium

Pulls:

  • Simplex 2099-9761 T-bars behind the “Disney World” STI Stopper I covers
  • Fire-Lite BG-12s (replaced some -9761s that had the glass broken)
  • FCI MS-6 (located in the science labs, cafeteria, and gymnasium)

System Sensor P241575K 1st Generation SpectrAlert Classic Horn Strobe (Outdoor alarm)
Simplex QuickAlert 4903-9417 Horn Strobes
Simplex QuickAlert 4904-9331 Strobes

Ugh, why are the strobes so dim in this dealership?!?! So many low intensity strobes in here. All the QuickAlerts are only 15CD and that Weatherproof SpectrAlert is only 15/75CD. Simplex never made a weatherproof Simplex QuickAlert, so they installed a SpectrAlert Classic. Those QuickAlerts are way too dim for the large open area space where all em’ new Toyotas are at! And the SpectrAlert isn’t even that bright either, only 15/75CD, so only brighter on axis. Simplex never made a QuickAlert with a 15/75CD strobe. At least in the bathrooms, the 15CD strobe is perfectly fine because the bathrooms are small. Off topic; But this dealership of course has a bunch of snacks and drinks including a vending machine. How much does this plan cost?

Just trying to show you that the fire alarms are not the only thing that matters in this dealership.

Want to know exactly what Fire Alarms I’m talking about? Let’s show you some pictures!

System Sensor P241575K (Buy Fire Alarm Parts)

These are the outdoor alarms.

Simplex QuickAlert 4903-9417 (eBay Seller Shultz Technology)

These are located everywhere in the dealership. There’s even two of these mounted very close to one another

Simplex QuickAlert 4904-9331 (eBay Seller lowvoltparts)

These are located in the bathrooms.

Fire Alarms in Villa Elementary School in Harrington;

This school here is very old; built sometime between the 1940’s and 1950’s.

There are various Simplex Fire Alarms:

Most Signals are Simplex 4903-9101+2901-9838 combos

There are also some Various Simplex 4903s (4903-9202, 4903-9219, 4903-9236). Mostly 4903-9202s.

Various Simplex QuickAlerts and TrueAlerts SmartSync (4903-9417 and 4906-9127)

There’s also 2 EST Genesises (1 Xenon and 1 LED) and an Integrity.

There’s also a Space Age A32 Strobe plate with an SH24D Horn.

There’s also 1 Free Run Simplex 4903-9425 15CD 4 Wire TrueAlert Horn Strobe in Continuous

One Simplex 4903-9252 replaced a 4903-9101+2901-9838 Combo due to the 4903-9101 having a dead strobe. The Whole System is incredibly loud! The Mechanical Horns are arguably even louder than the TrueAlerts+1 QuickAlert. All Horn Strobes except for the 2 SmartSync TrueAlerts+1 QuickAlert sound in Continuous. The SmartSync devices sound in Code 3. The QuickAlert is in the Cafeteria, and it is only 15CD, so it is very dim. It is model no. 4903-9417 and it is from 2000 (34th week). The two SmartSync TrueAlerts are located in the same hallway also including 1 Simplex 4903-9101+2901-9838 Combo (1 is fixed 15CD candela and the other is multi candela). Then there’s 4 Classrooms that have Simplex 4903-9236 Electronic Horn Strobes, they are loud and out of sync! This whole system is lovely!

What is the deal with having QuickAlerts that are only 15CD in larger areas in buildings in this town?

Fire Alarms at the Harrington High School

HHS Robots! The High School Football (:football:) team has had a lot of wins this fall! The men keep on hitting em’ hard! Looks like they’ve gotten a lot of practice and skill, making them beat other High School Football (:football:) teams.

The System is a Simplex 4100+ with Simplex QuickAlert 4903-9417/9418/9419 Horn Strobes and QuickAlert 4904-9331/9332 Strobes.

Yes most of the QuickAlerts are only 15CD again in this High School! There were some larger spaces in the school that bumped the horn strobes’ candelas to 75 and 110CD, this includes the gymnasiums, weight room and cafeteria. Most of the remote strobes were -9331s which are the 15CD models, but the front desk and some larger offices each had a -9332, which are 75CD.

Pictures of the System:

These are located throughout the entire school, these are everywhere, even in classrooms.

Simplex 4903-9418 Wall Mount SmartSync Audible/Visible Horn/Strobe
So because these ones have a little bit of a higher candela rating of 75, these are located in the weight room as well as the auditorium.

These are located in the Cafeteria (2 were mounted on skirts) and Gymnasium (Mounted on Cages and 4905-9923 rectangular 4903 backboxes. Also I apologize for the :poop: quality picture. IDK why but I am obsessed with saying :poop: in my posts. There are actually both 4903-9418s and -9419s in the library.

These are located in all the bathrooms, a bunch of offices and small classrooms in the school.

Simplex 4904-9332 (75CD). I don’t know where this photo came from, but credit to whoever that person is!
|186px;x199px;
Located in some larger offices & front desk (they needed a 75CD strobe instead of a 15CD one, but they didn’t want a loud horn for those spaces)

These are the outdoor alarms.

The building by the :football: field has System Sensor SpectrAlert Advances, L-Series and LED L-Series Horn Strobes.

Also, just in case if you are wondering, there’s actually a lot of buildings in my fictitious city that have Simplex QuickAlerts as the indoor fire alarms and System Sensor SpectrAlerts as the outdoor alarms. Yes, they’re unrelated stepbrothers of one another. The way you can tell there’s about to be a Fire Drill is if you hear the SpectrAlerts from outside go off, the QuickAlert strobes flash and then the QuickAlerts will go off. Everything here is obviously Coded to temporal Code 3

This post will cover the individual systems of each large anchor store in the B’jolly Mall in Poughquag, NY. (The post is quite long, so I uploaded a Google Doc):

Williamsville Central Library (fictional city in Indiana north of Indianapolis; roughly the size of Columbus, with the exception of all the outer suburbs)–originally built in 1900 as a Carnegie library; Received a massive three-story expansion in 1928, and third one in 1953 (matches the 1928 expansion)

original system: none until 1928

Panel–Holtzer-Cabot coded system

initiating devices–H-C round (semi-flush) coded pull stations–Faraday versions in the postwar addition; no automatic detectors until 1953, with the addition of a Pyrotronics FIU panel and F3 smoke detectors, which are in all mechanical and storage rooms and basement

Signaling devices: H-C under-dome single stroke bells (10 inch), which would be swapped out with Faraday 220-series (UNI-PACT) single stroke chimes during the 1953 expansion and remodel

off-topic: Elevators are Otis bottom-drive traction (originally gated and manually operated) with black button call stations and car control panels that were installed when the cabs were upgraded during the 1953 remodel

The building today has largely remained unchanged, with a few small upgrades, such as an IT server room in the basement.
